Course Info

The 2-day (16-hour) Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course includes basic life support (CPR infant/child/adult & AED), Wilderness Anaphylaxis Training (WAT) and covers injuries and illnesses common when traveling or working in the backcountry. Participants should expect a mix of classroom instruction, hands-on learning, and scenario-based practice for the wilderness first aid skills they will learn. This course is intended for the outdoor recreationalist and is a good introduction to wilderness medicine and basic life support skills.

This course is offered through the University of Portland Outdoor Pursuits Program.  UP Students can sign up here, but non-UP students should contact Rae Pickens, Outdoor Pursuits Program Manager, to set up a UP account prior to registering.
